Coming in Lent… A Study of Falling Upward: Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life, by Richard Rohr.
+
Richard Rohr, OFM, is a world-renowned teacher and retreat leader. A Franciscan friar, he has been a prison chaplain, speaker, and spiritual director for four decades or more. This book is a spiritual guide through the “second half of life,” when “necessary suffering” has taught each and all of us about the inadequacy of the “identity” we try so hard to create for ourselves. We see that truth, despair may open the way to hope, as “death,” (and not only physical) leads to resurrection. I invite you to order the book and read along with me, but you are invited to attend whether you purchase the book or not. We will begin our study on February 29 at 6:40.

Also (perhaps) coming in Lent… Films and Faith. The pastor is interested in knowing how many would like to participate in a “movie night” with discussion of the theology/spirituality of movies such as Gran Torino, Unforgiven, The Apostle, Open Range (these are possibilities). Please call or email the pastor if you are interested.
